I hope everyone’s new year is starting off great. Mine is. I tend not to do resolutions but I have been working on taking care of myself better, I just haven’t had a formal goal associated with it. Now I do. Since I’m working on increasing my endurance I’ve decided to go for a half marathon. Crazy, but true. I will never be able to do a full marathon with my back the way it is but I do think 13.1 miles is well within the walk/run reach.
I’ve already started training for Long Beach Marathon in October and I’m really excited! However the Firemen vs Policemen 5K fun run may have more eye candy…
Vacation was supposed to clear my head in preparation for the new year. What I found out these past 10 days is that it took this long to stop thinking about work. I have decisions to make on what direction my career should go and with new insight I am pretty sure I know what my goals should be for 2009. I’m also in my Master’s program which I love. I still want to work on my novel and started scheduling time to write. And last but not least I MUST take care of myself — the treadmill is finally getting used daily (more on that later).
So, with a really good day planner I am armed and ready for 2009.
